Last weekend I took a bus to NYC to visit with some of the best people I know - my roommates from my City Year. All of the ladies (minus Rachel) were able to make the trip and it was a great weekend, one of the best I’ve had in a long time.
Hannah and Maura both live in Brooklyn, so that’s where I spent most of the weekend. I crashed with Maura, who is now getting her master’s in liberal arts and writing for a couple of different publications. Hannah is married and in her last semester of law school. Sarah is almost finished getting a master’s in nonprofit administration (I think that’s what it’s called) and Lizzy is a social worker who has just started her own hair business on the side.
It was 10 years ago that we moved in together in a 4-bedroom Somerville apartment with one bathroom. There were six girls that doubled up in the “larger” three rooms and one guy (Michael) who sleep in a room the size a closet. It was one of the hardest, funnest and most transformative years of my life. I’m just so lucky that these ladies were a part of it.

Great to see you are all doing so well!
